The Health Sciences Library (HSL) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill shares the university's mission to provide services to the citizens of the state. NC Health Info is HSL's consumer health website, an online guide to websites of quality health and medical information for the public. Use NC Health Info to find reliable, easy-to-use information about health insurance, choosing a doctor or health care service, getting a second opinion, electronic health records, and more to help you become a better informed patient and navigate the health care system successfully. NC Health Info also links to evaluated information about health conditions, mental health disorders, drugs and pharmaceuticals, and treatments and procedures. NC Health Info has an established history of meeting the health information needs and interests of English and Spanish speaking North Carolinians and is maintained by librarians statewide who volunteer their time and expertise to select the best information sources for you.
Partners & Contributors
NC Health Info receives volunteer assistance from all of the academic health sciences libraries in the state. We gratefully acknowledge the contributions made by the Health Sciences Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Carpenter Library, Wake Forest University School of Medicine; Duke University Medical Center Library; and the William E. Laupus Health Sciences Library, East Carolina University. These libraries provide substantial staff hours to keep the site current, authoritative, and relevant.

It furthers the teaching mission of the University of North Carolina and provides state-of-the-art patient care. NC Health Info serves as the system's source of health information for its patients and the public. NC Health Info is managed by Diana McDuffee, MSLS, AHIP and Christie Silbajoris, MSLS, AHIP, at the Health Sciences Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Diana is the Head of AHEC and Outreach Services and Assistant Library Director (Interim). Christie is the Consumer Health and Patient Education Librarian and NC Health Info Director. She has a long-standing involvement in promoting consumer health library services to patients and the public. They have both been involved with NC Health Info since its inception.
